The 2014 statisitcs on homeless revealed that there were approximately 49,933 homeless Veterans on a single night in January 2014 in the United States. For us at Tommys House, even one Veteran without safe and stable housing is one too many.
There are many reasons Veterans can become homeless, including poverty, lack of support from family or friends, substance use, or mental health challenges that may develop or worsen as a result of trauma they experience while serving.
Tommys House will be breaking ground on a 36 unit efficiency apartment building in Passaic County to serve Veterans in Passaic and Bergen Counties. Each unit will be provided to a qualifying homeless veteran at no cost. You can give a helping hand to homeless NJ Veterans by contributing to Tommys House. Thank you!
Because everyone deserves a place to rest their head.
